Southern Men are almost better then Eddie Bauer Men
So today I realized that I need to marry a southern man....the problem? I don't live in the south. :( But after graduation I am moving to the South to meet my dream southern man. Not any southern man, southern classy men...think matthew mcconaughey. A little bit of an accent, lots of class, a little bit of a five o'clock shadow, lots of manners, a north face jacket, outdoorsy, great hair, and a little tan :)
Reasons to love Southern men:
1) They have amazing accents
2) They want a classy woman
3) They have manners
4) They have great hair
5) They know how to treat classy women
6) They love big dogs
7) They probably own or are going to inherit a plantation
8) They are outdoorsy
9) They are just plain sexy
10) They are almost all Christian/catholic (hello its the bible belt)
11) Parents love southern men! (I dont know any parent who wouldnt be happy if their daughter brought home a southern gentleman)
Now let me clear this up real quick: By Southern men I am not talking about the kind who wear camo every day of the week, go hunting every morning, and have a big rebel flag on the back of their ford f150. I am talking about the high class southern men who have been in cotillion since they were able to walk. Men like Ret Butler :)

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed ~Theodore Roosevelt
This is how I feel right now.
But we're SOOO CLOSE to being done!!!!!
Good luck studying both of you! Here's a prayer to say before you go to sleep tonight!
But If I Do,
Don't Pity Me at All,
Just Lay My Bones
In the Study Hall.
Tell My Prof
I Did My Best,
Then Pile My
Books upon My Chest.
Now I Lay Me
Down to Rest,
And Pray I'll Pass
Tomorrow's Test.
If I Should Die Before I Wake,
That's One less Test I'll Have to Take.

I Will Not Flunk.

Not all those who wonder are lost...
"All that is gold does not glitter
not all those who wander are lost
the old that is strong does not wither
deep roots are not reached by the frost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken
a light from the shadows shall spring
renewed shall be blade that was broken
the crown less again shall be king."
- J.R.R. Tolkien

Being classy is simply a way of life.
If you googled the number of websites with the word "classy" in the entire web, you'll find that there are 78763 number of pages using that word. It is one of the most misrepresented words.
SO WHAT IS BEING CLASSY?!?
Here are some traits of being classy:
1) Wealth
2) Lineage
3) Memberships
4) Education
5) Arts
6) Social savvy
7) Political clout
8) Travel sophistication
9) Sports
10) Values
11) Achievement
12) Hobbies
13) Philanthropy
14) Manners and self care
15) Having a good command of language
16) A refined accent
Developing all of these traits gives each of us a personalized roadmap to how to be classy.
In doing so, we increase in our self confidence and knowledge. We expand our mids, widen our horizons, and begin to believe in ourselves.
That is how, in general, we become classically elegant.
SO WHAT IS ELEGANCE?!
*The elegant woman loves herself and secure within herself that allows her to be generous and unselfish.
*She embraces her feminine nature.
*The elegant woman seeks to understand herself, who she is and is not. You'll never find her following trends blindly.
*She plans and organizes herself and her life so that she'll never be in a frenzy.
* The elegant woman finds a way to keep her home elegant which means clean and neat injected with some of her personality in decorations.
*The elegant woman invests in good shoes. Good shoes affect your walk and your posture. It also affects your feelings throughout the day.
*Education is high in priority in her life. She seeks to educate herself in matters that interests her.
*She lives for a greater cause than herself. She finds ways to give service to others, church, charity or a life's mission, wherever her heart finds compassion.
*She is always polite and remembers her manners.
*An elegant woman is like everyone else, with feelings and emotions of excitement, hurt, and even anger. She just chooses to control them and the appropriate time to express them.
*She assumes the best in everyone and every situation. She gives everyone the benefit of the doubt.
*The elegant woman values 'the natural', she keeps everything about her as natural as possible and eats food that are as natural as well.
*She does not get embarrassed. If she spills her coffee, she'll just smile and brush it off and move on. If someone else spills her coffee, she makes nothing of it and moves on.
*She finds little joys and pleasure in the everyday life
^^^ We're going to be all of these things!!!!!
Is Classy even present in our society?
So alast night we asked a few men what they would define as classy and none of them had answers. Not one man could describe what it means/looks like to be a classy women.
This is very tragic because this means that we as women have failed to provide a good definition of "classy". Men do not know what classy means because we as women have failed to show them the definition of classy through our choices, actions, words, clothes, and lifestyles.
Maybe women need a reminder of what it actually means as well? According to Merriam Webster dictionary: Definition of CLASSY
: having or showing class: as a : elegant, stylish b : having or reflecting high standards of personal behavior c : admirably skillful and graceful
Goals for us:
We are going to write this book, have lots of fun, become classier, make lots of memories and lots of money :)

Classy Women attract Classy Men...
"I purposely go into Eddie Bauer, in hopes of the cashier hitting on me or finding my future husband." -Megan Barnett
Here's the deal:
Never date a man who is better looking then you...date men who are just a little less attractive than you are and if you dont know how attractive you are look at who you are friends with. Men who are a little less attractive than you will treasure you and treat you like a real live princess.
Date men who are a little smarter than you. Not smarter so they look down on you, but smart enough to help you through your blonde moments.
Look for rustic men...think Eddie Bauer not Abercrombie. They will be able to make you a fire and look really hot doing it. Also who wouldnt want to get it on, on a bear skin rug in a cabin in Colorado?!
As cheesy as it sounds, don't focus solely on good looks if looking for a relationship. However if it is just a hookup, goodlooks are probably a fine connection.
It is possible to hookup in a classy way. One guy per party and no more than a little makeout session!!! no matter if you are going to 4 parties in one night, only 1 guy per night! A max of two guys in one weekend, but this should only happen in extreme circumstances, never a regular basis!

"Being classy is dressing everyday like you're going to get murdered in those clothes."
Hello lovely ladies!
"Belly button, cleavage and thigh should not be shown more than 2 at a time. The only exceptions are themed parties or the beach."
3) Proper manners and self respect
4) Never leave the house with wet hair, in sweats, without Beige by Chanel, without showering, without looking presentable.
5) Carry yourself with pride not arrogance. Respect not meekness. Sex appeal, but don't rent yourself out to everyone who looks. A mind of your own, but without judgment. Be yourself and class will follow...
6) Even if you make an utter fool of yourself, laugh about it quickly and don't let it hurt your pride.
7) Being courteous and professional, keeping your eyebrows groomed, your lips hydrated, and dressing nice.
8) Stayin' classy is all in the head. If you think you're classy, then you ARE classy. <---- THEN WE'RE SUPER CLASSY!
9) Keeping your head up, your legs closed, & your eyes open.
10) Just immitate Audrey Hepburn <3

RACHEL I'M SO GLAD YOU ARE BLOGGING TOO!!! :)
"Michelangelo said the best way to judge the essential elements
of a sculpture is to throw it down a hill and the unimportant pieces
will break away. Sometimes life is like that. It tosses us down a hill.
But when we reach the bottom and only the important things are left,
that's when our vision clears. That's when we hold on tight to what we
know, while hope stirs inside us. It's all a matter of perspective"

Quotes to help us stay classy:
"The only thing a girl should ever chase is her vodka."
"Every girl shold use what mother nature gave her berfore father time takes it away." So there is a facebook group called "Being Classy" and they had a status that said: "How do you stay classy?"
And these are some fab responses (AND IDEAS FOR OUR BOOK!)
1) Get drunk, smoke (all day), get laid.. wake up and start over - the more times this is done successfully w/out getting a disease the classier one becomes. <--- NOT CLASSY!
2) Keeping my pants on3) Proper manners and self respect

So...I had an official breakdown last night. After flunking Chemistry and Bio, I realized that maybe sciences aren't right for me. I also came to the realization that I kinda like people...thus maybe a possible PR career.
New life Plan:
1) Change my major TODAY!
2) NEVER take another science class for the rest of my life!
3) Graduate by 2013.
4) Work hard and actually see results which support my hard work!
5) Write a book with Megan and Catherine
6) The book will be called "Classy not Trashy...How to stay classy in College."
7) Get a job that I love after college!
8) Be classy!

"In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different."
Hello Ladies!I hope you both had wonderful breaks :) So, tonight, as usual I was wasting time on the computer in an attempt to procrastinate. But suddenly, I realized that I was better than that. I can get good grades and be a successful student. And I can be a classy, intelligent, but still fun woman! So, I have compiled a list of motivational quotes to help us study for finals and tests. Also, I revisited the beginning of our blog to remind us all of the steps to being "that girl" because let's face it: we've all had our fair share of completely and utterly failing at it. But, in the words of Scarlett O'Hara, "After all, tomorrow is another day."
Motivational quotes for your final three weeks of the semester:
"I know it seems hard sometimes, but remember one thing, through every dark night, there's a bright day after that. So no matter how hard it gets, keep your chest out, keep your head up and handle it."
Tupac
“There is joy in work. There is no happiness except in the realization that we have accomplished something.”—Henry Ford
It’s never too late to be what you might have been. –George Eliot
"You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call 'failure' is not the falling down but the staying down."—Mary Pickford
Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. - Albert Einstein
Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; and dream while others are wishing.
William Arthur Ward
And finally, in the words of Al Ruesink:"To give anything less that your best is to sacrifice the gift."
Now that you are motivated to ace those finals like I know you will, here's a little motivation to improve the other parts of your life:
Steps to being "that girl":
1. Wake up early
2. Get Straight A's
3. Workout on a regular basis
4. Eat Healthily
5. Be overly involved in everything.
6. Dress for Success
7. Keep it classy
8. Make everyone love you
9. Keep yourself well groomed
10. Always, always, always, always wear pearls.
Well, I shall see you tomorrow and I know we will all be looking classy and fabulous ready to take on the world! Aren't I motivating?

Bloggin' Like a Champ.
“The most important trip you may ever take in life is meeting people halfway…”
- Henry Boye
I thought this was fitting of todays argument. haha.
Anyway, MORE INSPIRATION TO BE AMAZING PEOPLE:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves “who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?” Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are born to make manifest the Glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us , it’s in everyone, as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
- Marianne Williamson from “A Return to Love”
